2014 Construction Season

The Rice County Highway Department’s construction season is scheduled to begin in early May.  This year’s projects include the following:
 
•  CSAH No. 1 (Millersburg Blvd) – Reconstruction of 4.2 miles between CSAH No. 4 (Independence Ave) and CSAH No. 9 (Echo Ave).  Estimated construction dates:  May 14th – November 7th.  The roadway will be closed to thru traffic and a detour route will be posted.
 
•  CSAH No. 76 (Acorn Trail) – Reconstruction of 2 miles between 170th St and CSAH No. 9 (150th St).  Estimated construction dates:  May 12th – September 19th.  The roadway will be closed to thru traffic and a detour route will be posted.
 
•  CSAH No. 37 – Pavement resurfacing and shoulder paving on 6.7 miles between CSAH No. 10 (Dodd Road) and CSAH No. 11 (Roberds Lake Blvd).  Estimated construction dates:  July 8th – August 16th.  The roadway will remain open to traffic; however, delays and single lane closures are expected.
 
•  Culvert replacement on CSAH No. 21 (Cabot Ave) approximately 0.2 miles south of CSAH No. 19 (240th St E).  Estimated construction dates:  August or September.  Impact to traffic is the complete closure of the roadway at the culvert crossing until construction is completed.  A detour route will be posted.
 
•  Culvert replacement at the intersection of CSAH No. 23 (Gates Ave) and CSAH No. 25 (197th St E).  Estimated construction dates:  August or September.  Impact to traffic is the complete closure of the roadway at the culvert crossing until construction is completed, including the intersection.  A detour route will be posted.
 
•  Pavement chip seal, striping, miscellaneous culvert replacements, pavement resurfacing, and other maintenance projects requiring temporary road closures at various locations throughout the County will occur.
