Election Information

 

 

Primary Election: First Tuesday after the second Monday in September preceding general election.

General Election: First Tuesday, after first Monday in November in even numbered years.

Township Elections: Second Tuesday of March of each year.

City/School District Elections: First Tuesday, after the first Monday in November.

FILING DATES
Candidates for federal, state and county elections file not more than seventy days nor less than fifty six days before State primary election. (MS 205B.09).

Candidates for township and city offices file not more than eight weeks nor less than six weeks before the municipal primary, or general if there is no primary.

Candidate Filing Information


The County Auditor/Treasurer enters and maintains all County voter's registrations on the state system.  This office also:
  • Administers election process including training election judges, city, town, and school district officials.
  • Tallies and reports election night returns.
