The Rice County Board of Commissioners supports economic development and in 2007 created the Economic Development Department. The goal of the department has been to work collectively with Rice County communities to ensure that a pro economic development culture exists throughout all of Rice County. The role of the Economic Development Department is to identify, promote, and implement strategic steps to take advantage of the county’s assets.
Rice County works in partnership with our communities to foster an environment that welcomes economic development as a means to expand the tax base and create quality jobs, benefiting the county as a whole.
